A Super Pair of Original 1930's Japanese Shingunto WW2 Officer Sword Display Panels

A set of original 1930's single shingunto officer's sword koshirae sword mountings, bisected into two, in order to form a pair of mirror image mounts, and then mounted on a pair of dark brown faded lacquer panels.

They are beautiful and highly decorative, and we have only once seen their like before.

Possibly made and mounted for a display by a company in Japan, before the war, that made and fitted similar mounts for officer's swords, or, for a highly distinctive and beautiful display pieces, such as for a collection of original Japanese swords. One can only speculate.

The applied sword mounts are standard, average regulation size, the panels, are 49.5 inches long x 5.75 inches wide. Nice condition for age with commensurate wear
